Tony Pigott (1944–2020)
John White recalls meeting Tony on the first day they arrived as Freshmen at Trinity in October 1965. They were on the same staircase in New Court.
They kept in touch from time to time and Tony gave John good advice on a number of occasions in connection with various projects which his Company undertook. He has happy memories of an evening meal with him in Odiham soon after he had been promoted to Major General, and a splendid meal at High Table in Trinity one weekday evening a few years later. Tony was the very model of an English Gentleman. We always knew he was destined to rise high, while never losing his humility, kindness and self-awareness.
